Touring in Australia … trip hazards
Heat stroke is the technical term fever, which is often confused with hypothermia. The first refers to the body too much heat. The second is the opposite – too little. Here I am talking about too much heat. The problem can be quickly and can have serious consequences. The symptoms are extreme weakness and lack of coordination. Avoid fever by drinking plenty of water and stay cool. Treated by cooling the patient and give drinks. Recovery is usually quick. If not, seek medical advice. Children have died of hyperthermia, while the other cars. It is a serious crime in Australia to a small child in a parked car. Do not forget to use sunscreens.
Australia is home to some of poisonous snakes in the world, but most of the Australians rarely find. I’ve never been a snake in the garden. I see every now and then, when bushwalking and I very much when I go trout fishing show. Australian bush is full of snakes. Trout fishermen cannot sneak around and see if they make their presence. I am a thump when I go bushwalking. Thus, snakes are more likely to hear me, and from the road. Danger times when the hoses are not enabled. This is done in early spring when they come out of hibernation in a cool, dry days, and if they vote out of the skin.
Australian beaches harbor more risk than the colder parts of the world. Added we drown in a variety of marine life, injure and cause death. These include sharks, jellyfish, stone fish, blue ringed octopus. This does not mean you can safely swim. The main beaches are protected by shark nets and guarded by lifeguards. I recommend that you not swim elsewhere without expert local advice. I have several encounters with sharks (and a white pointer breed) and have great respect. Remember that the jellyfish is common in tropical beaches in the summer. It can lead to death within a few minutes and insists the victims in most years. CPR followed my treatment for medical evacuation. All risks, it is potentially serious. Do not swim in the tropical coastal waters in the summer, full body protection.
Australia is a land of extremes. The growing season is growing a lot and dries. Trees are full of flammable oils. Fire hazard is through the roof regularly. Especially gum trees – firebombed a mist of oil, which collects more than the trees create. Fires the flash of the great distances at incredible speeds. Parks National parks authorities, when fire is high. They are not there to other areas to warn, and you must use your own discretion bush walks and picnic.
